Some steps and tips to get the most from our candles
1. Trim the wick
Before each burn, trim the wick to 6mm to prevent excess soot and ensure a cleaner burn.
2. Burn for 2-4 hours on first use
Allow the candle to burn long enough for the melted wax to reach the edges of the container on the first burn (usually 2-4 hours). This prevents tunneling and helps the candle burn evenly.
3. Keep away from drafts
Avoid placing candles in drafty areas as this can cause uneven burning, excessive dripping, or soot.
4. Burn for 3-4 hours at a time
For best results, don't burn your soy wax candle for more than 3-4 hours at a time to avoid overheating the wax.
5. Re-center the wick
After extinguishing the flame, gently re-center the wick if it has shifted to ensure even burning on the next use.
6. Allow wax to cool and harden
Let the wax fully cool and solidify before relighting the candle or trimming the wick.
7. Keep the wax clean
Remove any debris, such as matches or wick trimmings, from the wax to ensure a safe, clean burn.
8. Store in a cool, dry place
Store your candles in a cool, dry area away from direct sunlight to prevent discoloration and fading of the scent.
9. Extinguish with care
NEVER use the lid to extinguish a candle. Use a snuffer to extinguish the flame instead of blowing it out to avoid splashing wax or creating smoke.
10. Reuse or refill the container
Once the candle is finished, consider reusing or refilling the container to reduce waste.
